What is your collection made of and how do you read it.

I have been reading comics for 50 years. Obviously I initially had to buy them from newsagents and comic shops, read the physical item then stick it in a long box ( my preciouses ).

I also bought back issues and did the same. I ended up with a rather large Marvel 70s, 80s and 90s collection as well as a goodly amount of DC and indies and graphic albums on shelves.

Today my new purchases from Marvel are only Masterworks or Omnibuses ( or some of the specials like the Dr. Strange Treasury ). New Marvel I read on Marvel Unlimited. DC is dead to me because of the constant reboots and if an indie gets a good talk up I'll buy the collection as a physical object ( but may then eBay it onwards ).

I have something like 50 longboxes of comics which I rarely go near. The reason being I downloaded a massive library of Marvel scans several years ago, so if I wanted to read one of my longboxed comics I'd just read the scan.

I am wondering if it is now time to shed the longboxes of those comics I have scans or Omnibuses of. Why am I holding onto these pamphlets ?

How are other people's collections configured ?
