I dont know anything about the subject, but do you think this is something that could be done in the near future?
Imagine that, in the case of old comics, I have scans from original art for some pages/issues, but not for all of them. That happens a lot in 60s Masterworks, for instance, some pages look GREAT if they have access to original art (just look at those gorgeus Amazing Fantasy 15 pages), but some other issues, reproduced from not first generation stats look... well, not that good.
Now imagine that I order an AI to absorb (or I feed it) all the original art scans available of Amazing Spider-man 1-38 plus Annual 1, 2... and then I ask it, using the original art available as basis, to restore the rest of the pages/issues to how they would look if I had the original art available. And I could do the same with other runs with different artists.
Do you think this is something that could be done in the future with PERFECT results? Again, I dont know more about AI than the average guy, but from what I have heard and read, it's not something that seems that impossible to do in the near future.
Any AI experts here?
