I’ve heard rumors the wonderful Buz Sawyer by Roy Crane books were to continue beyond the four published books. So I reached out to Fantagraphics and have gotten confirmation that they are indeed working on Volume 5! They are planning for it to be released in Jan 2025, but that’s not definite yet.
From the publisher:
“There are no firm dates on the production schedule yet we're shooting for January for Buz Sawyer Volume 5. We also intend to continue on from there. We'd like to have these out in January but it's certainly possible that it takes longer. One other fact I can mention here is that Volume 5 will be released on our FU imprint which means a smaller print run. People who are serious about Buz will want to preorder.”
SO…some excellent news, especially if this line continues to Vol 6 and beyond! I’m very happy to hear this news confirmed. Once I see a link to pre-order I’ll try to share it here.
Buz Sawyer is an amazing strip. If you haven’t tracked down Vols 1-4 now’s the time!
