Masterworks collect the feature series and for Sub-Mariner, you've got the 1984 4-issue limited series, then the 1989 Saga of the Sub-Mariner. There are also short stories in Marvel Fanfare and elsewhere. The limited series and the odds and ends are too small. With Saga it's too big and there's a key storyline from the 1989 Annials that could deserve inclusion.
How much of Atlantis Attack would be included in a Sub-Mariner Masterworks (or Epic Collection)? Sub-Mariner doesn't appear much in it, he "dies" early and then returns for the conclusion but the series features his enemies Attuma, Llyra, Krang, etc. The early Annuals for the street heroes are very tangential with only few pages of subplot related to the main storyline.
So here is my proposal of what to include:
Silver Surfer Annual pages 18-23 Ghaur meets Llyra + page 24 Dr. Strange and Firebird receive warning of threat, 7 pages
Iron Man Annual 10 cover + full story, 26 pages this is where Namor "dies"
AWC 56 "Reunion" short story announcing Namor's death 4 pages
Firebird story from AWC Annual 4, 7 pages
X-Men Annual page 35, 1 page
ASM Annual 23 cover + full story 26 pages Llyra, She-Hulk chosen as bride of Set
Spectacular Spider-Man Annual 9 page 5 & page 22, Dagger chosen as bride of Set and Namor disguised appearance 2 pages
Avengers Annual 18 full cover + story 31 pages Namor disguised appearance + Namor villains
New Mutants 76 cover + full story 23 pages Namor
New Mutants Annual 5 cover + full story 36 pages Namorita, Atlantean setting & villains
Andromeda story from Iron Man Annual 10 7 pages
X-Factor Annual 4 cover + full story 26 pages Attuma, Atlanteans
WOSM Annual 5 cover + full story 26 pages Attuma, Llyra, Atlanteans, Namor disguised appearance
AWC Annual 4 cover + full story 31 pages
Thor Annual 14 cover + full story 26 pages
FF Annual 22 cover + full story 31 pages conclusion and return of Namor
Saga of the Serpent Crown 83 pages for the Epic
This adds up to a manageable 310 pages for a Masterworks. Thor Annual could even be shortened for the Masterworks and the Saga of the serpent crown could be omitted, leaving room for M/CP 7/4, SOLOA 17/2, M/FAN 43 or the earlier death of Marrina storyline or the 1984 limited series in an Epic collection.
