this might just be a topic that only I'm interested in, but I wanted a place where instead of making predictions or resolutions for the new year, it would be one where we could voice what we want to see whether in comics, tv series or films...(I know the last two with their years' worth of pre-production mean they would not be automatically granted, but an announcement would be good enough!...I will give some examples)
FOR 2024, WE NEED TO SEE:.....
[1] the return of Jed Mckay on a Black Cat series, one that isn't intruded upon by Marvel marketing that push for team-ups with Iron Man or Mary Jane Watson that aren't that much about Black Cat... (since Mckay is writing what seems to be his maximum quota of 3 monthly series, this may not happen...but it would be grand!)
[2] the return of the animated Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes back into production with most of its creatives, before it was scuttled for that dreadful Avengers Assemble by Jeph loeb.
[4] A special mini-series to coincide with this year's Paris Olympics
[5] Dan Slott to revive Marvel Two-In-One in the traditional way...(Wolverine and Venom verboten!)
[6] the full return of the Geoff Johns version of the Legion of Super-Heroes
[7] the creation of a bizarro Scourge of the Underworld (Pum! Spak!), however one that hunts down and jettisons some of the hundreds of terrible "hero" characters that came and went and were never heard from again since the mid-to late 80s. Time for a needed housecleaning.
[8] a new DC animated one-shot that brings back the Bruce Timm design...(with respect to Mark Hammill and Kevin Conroy, avoid Batman & Joker- would love to see the return of John Stewart with Phil Lamarr!)
[9] No more alternate Earths stories, at least for this year!!
[10] At least 3 romances either between super-characters (heck, I'll even take between a hero and a villain), or with hero and civilian, which seems to never happen anymore...I think the last one was the reuniting of Doc Strange & Clea, which is hardly new... (oh yeah, there has been Monet and Quicksilver which came out of nowhere but not unwelcome) (oh yeah, also Emma Frost and Tony Stark...) hmmm, oh ok ok...![😳]()
And that's some of what I'd like to see in 2024...
