Silver Age GL

Doing a complete read through of silver age GL right now. Loving it (minus Tom’s nickname). But I was wondering, does the Hal/GL/Carol ‘love triangle’ evolve past the basic Clark/SM/Lois one? I was surprised and slightly slightly disappointed that it seemed to be a retread if that Superman dynamic. Anyone else feel it’s a bit too similar?

I’m sure things will change when Star Sapphire enters the fray.
