So in the DC collectable thread there was talk about DC Lego and I found there's a sizeable audience here that likes Lego. The Lego thread in the Transformers forum I post on is hopping busy daily and there was interest expressed here for a general Lego thread like we have there, so I thought I would start one up.
Feel free to post ALL toy brick stuff here. Mostly Lego, but there are lots of good alternative brands out there too that are almost as good quality as Lego for two thirds the price. I keep up with Lego and brick stuff a lot and it's pretty much the only reason I keep Instagram downloaded hahaha. I mean we can post DC stuff in DC collectable thread too sane for Marvel, but let's also keep the overall Lego discussion here, and maybe get more talk going too. Lots of great non licensed stuff like Pirates and City, Castle and Space, and a whole lot more (but pirate theme is OBVIOUSLY the best theme). I hope we can get this thresd as thriving as the thread on my Transformers forum.
Shameless plug, but below is a Comic Shop I built out of Lego a year ago and absolutely love, and also another build, my most recent video I made.
As for the most recent news, we've just seen photos of the Star Wars set Jabba's Sail Barge. It's absolutely awesome, but at $500 it's a super easy pass for me as a casual Star Wars fan. I'm VERY happy with my Obi-Wan Hut I MOCed into a small diorama and with current Star Wars pricing, I think I'll have to STAY happy with just that. Each new SW is always way over priced and I just can't afford them. I'd rather spend the money on loose parts on Bricklink and build my own creations or try out fun fan instruction builds.
However, I will say the just announced today Gift With Purchase for the Jabba's Sail Barge is amazing. It's a sleek brick built Skywalker lightsabre, and I like it enough I think I'll try snagging it on the secondary market if I can find it for less than $30 like I did the Deathstar GWP set.
Good news is, on first glace the lightsabre is all normal parts beside the printed Star Wars logo plate, so you could easily download the instructions online and build it with your own parts collection or ordering the parts off Bricklink.
